UPDATE: Jerry Jones’ family in car accident outside Levi’s Stadium

Jerry Jones's Family Car Hit by Rising Barricade En Route to 49ers-Cowboys Game

The family of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones were reportedly involved in a car accident ahead of Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

The general manager’s family members were traveling to Levi’s Stadium, where the Cowboys faced the 49ers on ‘Sunday Night Football.’

The second vehicle in the Jones family caravan was struck by a rising barricade outside the stadium, according to The Athletic.

The 82-year-old’s children, Charlotte Jones and Jerry Jones Jr., and grandson, Shy Anderson Jr. are said to have been traveling in the hit vehicle.

Both Charlotte and Jerry Jr. were reportedly examined by the team’s medical staff, before being able to relocate to the visiting owner’s suite for kickoff.

Charlotte is believed to have suffered a rib injury, while reports suggest that Jerry Jr. may have sustained a head injury.

Jerry Jr. is chief sales and marketing officer and a co-owner, while Charlotte is chief brand officer and co-owner.

Anderson, Charlotte’s son, is a scouting assistant for the team.

The Cowboys owner was traveling in another vehicle in the caravan with his eldest son Stephen, who acts as the team’s executive vice president, CEO, and director of player personnel.

Jones, of Dallas, Texas, has been married to Eugenia Jones, 75, for 59 years, and they have three children, Stephen, 57, Jerry Jr., 52, and Charlotte Jones Anderson, 55.

Charlotte is best known for her work with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, who were thrust back into the spotlight earlier this year with the release of Netflix’s docuseries, ‘America’s Sweethearts.’

The series, which gives an inside look at what it takes to be a member of the iconic DCC, started a discussion of NFL cheerleader pay and salaries.

NFL cheerleaders make less than NFL water boys, who make about $53,000 per year, and team mascots, who earn approximately $25,000 per season.

During the documentary, Charlotte discussed the low pay and said that the financial incentive is not what makes being a DCC appealing but rather the cheerleader’s ‘passion for dance.’
