BREAKING: CBS Sparks Outrage With Chiefs-Broncos Broadcast Decision

To finish off the 2024 NFL season, Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 38-0, securing the No. 7 seed in the playoffs.

Why Patrick Mahomes Did Not Play in Chiefs-Broncos Game - Athlon Sports

With the AFC’s No. 1 seed already secured, the Kansas City Chiefs really had no reason to play their starters. This allowed coach Andy Reid to rest significant plays like quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and defensive tackle Chris Jones.

Broncos QB Bo Nix was able to dominate the Chiefs’ backups through the beginning of the fourth quarter, allowing secondary quarterback Jarrett Stidham to get some reps.

Toward the end of the third quarter, with the Broncos up 31-0 and playing their starters against the Kansas City reserve squad, CBS made the decision to change the broadcast to the other AFC West battle between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Still, fans didn’t see much excitement as the Chargers took complete control of the fourth quarter.

But many NFL fans remained upset with CBS’s switch, with some wanting to watch the best team in the league, while others loved seeing a 15-1 Chiefs team get blown out. They left their thoughts on social media.

“I just wanted to see the end of the Broncos Chiefs game to see Denver make it to the playoffs for the first time in 8 years, and CBS says ‘this game is boring so here’s the Raiders’?! What the hell man??? @NFLonCBS.”

“Hey CBS! I was enjoying watching the Broncos stomp out the Chiefs. I should have had another quarter of enjoyment yet you switch to Chargers/Raiders… gross,” wrote another.

“Normally I’d understand CBS switching from the Broncos and Chiefs but they went to the Raiders and Chargers . The Raiders have a lot of ‘fans’ but the vast majority don’t pay attention to them and the Chargers don’t have fans lol,” commented a third.

“Really @CBSSports ??? NO ONE CARES TO SEE THE RAIDERS. We care to see the 15-1 team get slaughtered. PUT THE CHIEFS BACK ON. Stupid move @CBS,” added a fourth.

“I can’t believe @NFLonCBS just changed the Raider and Chargers game to the Chiefs and Broncos game. What a (expletive) joke. I ain’t watching that bs. (Expletive) you CBS,” posted a fifth.

“Come on CBS, I don’t get to watch the Broncos whip the Chiefs too often, lol. Put the game back on,” added a sixth.

The Chiefs finished the season 16-2 and will face the lowest-seeded team that wins in the Wild Card round.

The Broncos, on the other hand, jumped to 10-7 and will face the No. 2 seed Buffalo Bills next weekend.
