BREAKING NEWS: Five Chiefs Named to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games

Eight additional Chiefs were named as alternates for this year’s event

Five Chiefs Named to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games

The Kansas City Chiefs have their collective sights on another Super Bowl run as the postseason kicks off later this month, but in the meantime, five members of the back-to-back defending world champions earned nominations to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games on Thursday.

Here’s a look at each of the Chiefs’ five initial selections for this year’s event:

Center Creed Humphrey (Starter)

Defensive Lineman Chris Jones (Starter)

Tight End Travis Kelce

Offensive Guard Trey Smith

Offensive Guard Joe Thuney (Starter)

This marks the third-straight Pro Bowl nod for Humphrey, whose 1,112 offensive snaps this season lead all centers. In fact, Humphrey has been the league’s best overall and pass-blocking center this year according to Pro Football Focus. Jones, meanwhile, earned his sixth-straight nomination courtesy of a campaign in which he ranks fourth among all players in terms of pressures (74) despite playing in only 15 games.

Kelce, who led all players in fan votes, was named a Pro Bowler for the 10th straight season on Thursday. The future Pro Football Hall of Famer has 97 grabs for 823 yards and three touchdowns this year. Kelce secured his seventh consecutive campaign with 90+ catches last week, marking the longest streak for any player in league history.

Thuney earned a Pro Bowl nod this year for the third-straight season, and while his performance at left guard was excellent yet again, it has been his efforts at left tackle over the last three weeks that shouldn’t be overlooked. Thuney, despite lining up across from the likes of edge rushers such as T.J. Watt, Danielle Hunter and Myles Garrett, hasn’t allowed a sack since taking over at left tackle.

Joining Thuney this year is fellow guard Trey Smith, who earned the first Pro Bowl nomination of his career on Thursday. Smith’s 1,112 offensive snaps this season rank second among all guards, and on those, the veteran guard hasn’t allowed a single sack.

In addition to those five nominees, another eight members of the Chiefs were named as alternates for this year’s Pro Bowl Games:

Cornerback Trent McDuffie (First Alternate)

Linebacker Nick Bolton (First Alternate)

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes (First Alternate)

Fullback Carson Steele (Second Alternate)

Defensive End George Karlaftis (Third Alternate)

Punter Matt Araiza (Third Alternate)

Linebacker Leo Chenal (Fifth Alternate)

Kicker Harrison Butker (Fifth Alternate)

Of course, all of these players have their sights on a trip to Super Bowl LIX rather than the Pro Bowl Games, but after another hard-fought season, it’s still meaningful for all 13 of these players to be recognized for their efforts this year.
