The race for the 2025 NFL MVP award is heating up as Week 11 comes to a close. Going into Sunday, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen were tied as the favorites to win the award, with both having +350 odds, according to DraftKings.
In nine games this season, Mahomes has totaled 2,349 passing yards for 17 touchdowns with just five interceptions. As for Allen, he has thrown for 2,139 yards with 15 scores and five interceptions as well.
However, after Mahomes and the Chiefs had a bye this week and Allen’s Bills lost to the Miami Dolphins, an unexpected new favorite has emerged in the race for MVP.

On Sunday, the New England Patriots took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 28-23, which gave the Patriots their seventh straight victory and improved their record to 8-2. New England was led to victory by their star quarterback, Drake Maye, who had another impressive performance.
Maye went 16-of-31 passing for 270 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. After this game, Maye jumped ahead of Mahomes and Allen as the new favorite to win the MVP, according to DraftKings.

After the dust settled on Maye’s and Allen’s performances on Sunday, Maye has +250 odds, while Mahomes’ odds are +500 and Allen’s are +700, per DraftKings.
In 10 games, Maye has 2,555 passing yards, 19 touchdowns and five interceptions. With this incredible season, Maye could win his first career MVP award, while taking a possible third MVP away from Mahomes and a second from Allen.
Maye and the Patriots will be back in action on Thursday against the New York Jets (2-7) at 8:15 p.m. ET.
