BREAKING NEWS : Andy Reid is expected to cut Skyy Moore off the team amid Chief’s roster shakeup

Andy Reid and Skyy Moore

This NFL preseason is giving us some moments tough to digest. Now that teams are looking to finally close their main squads, many controversial decisions are expected to be made.

Well, the Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is reportedly getting ready to part ways with wide receiver Skyy Moore, as the team plans to close their 53-man roster ahead of the regular season. This difficult decision comes after Moore’s preseason did not match the first expectations, and before providing solutions, his situation raises many concerns among the coaching staff.

A busy room with limited members

The Chiefs’ wide receiver room is one of the highest competitive in the whole league, with the active presence of football superstars like Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, and JuJu Smith-Schuster, alongside emerging talents such as Xavier Worthy and Tyquan Thornton, this place in the team is really pricy.

Now that Moore struggles to deliver consistent results to his coaches, his spot on the team has become increasingly uncertain and closer to a departure.

Not good enough during the preseason

Moore’s preseason performances included an 88-yard punt return touchdown, proving his great playmaking ability skills and his on-scene activity. However, the little flashes of good plays were overshadowed by critical, rookie mistakes, including inaccurate easy passes and mishandled punts, which obviously the coaching staff did not like. Reid, known for his composed demeanor, made a rare pointed remark following a preseason game:

He had a couple of drops, that’s not like him… he came back with a big play. So I’m proud of him for that. It wasn’t his best night up to that point

Andy Reid.

Words that could lead to a farewell

Many fans and analysts interpreted Reid’s comments as a praise for Moore’s real talent but also as a ‘friendly’ warning that his wide receiver spot is overly busy and at high risk. While teammates contributed by offering him support, Moore’s inconsistency has put his own place on the team on the line, particularly now that the Chiefs are prioritizing reliable performance during the final roster decisions.

With the regular season just around the corner, colliding withRashee Rice‘ tense situation facing a potential NFL suspension, Reid’s final decisions must be focused on dependability over potential, especially in crucial playing roles like the wide receiver position and special teams. Moore’s hypothetical fate could serve as a reminder that even glimpses of brilliance may not be enough in a high competitive profession like the NFL environment.
