BREAKING : Patriots Make Sense As Landing Spot For Disgruntled Defensive Superstar

Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons recently requested a trade from the team following a contract dispute with the front office. It seems like Parsons is serious about wanting out of Dallas, so there’s a good chance he’s dealt unless a deal comes to fruition.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox recently listed Parsons as the Cowboys’ biggest trade chip ahead of the season.

Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons

“Dallas has a recent history of waiting until the last minute to reach contract agreements,” Knox wrote. “This led to massive deals for wideout CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott—who now makes $5 million more per year than any other player. Parsons is now set to top the $41 million annually that T.J. Watt will make on his new deal.

“If Parsons is prepared to leave, the Cowboys should see what they can get in return. They’re unlikely to be serious Super Bowl contenders within the next few seasons, and paying more than $130 million per year for three players would be hard to justify if they aren’t. Trading Parsons would likely bring back a pair of first-round picks and more. The Cowboys owe it to themselves to see just how high his price tag might go.”

If Parsons lands on the trade block with a real chance of being dealt, the New England Patriots need to throw their name in the hat.

The Patriots have built up the offense around Drake Maye a bit, but adding a superstar edge rusher to the defense could make the young quarterback’s job a lot easier. Parsons would help shorten drives. His impact plays could take a lot of pressure off of Maye and the offense.

The Patriots have the draft pick capital and a few young players they could dangle in a trade for Parsons.

At the end of the day, when a player of Parsons’ caliber lands on the trade market, it would make sense for every team to take a shot at landing him.
