Major behind-the-scenes Packers concerns after Josh Jacobs remarks spark outcry

GREEN Bay Packers star Josh Jacobs has caused uproar in his locker room with some unpopular comments.

Jacobs, 26, was despondent after the team’s season ended at the wild card round stage.

Green Bay fell to a 22-10 defeat by the Philadelphia Eagles in a disappointing end to the season.

Running back Jacobs was asked where the team needs to improve for 2025.

And he said, “We’ve got a really young group of receivers.

“All can be really, really, really special, but I think personally we need a guy that’s proven to be a No. 1 already.

“So somebody we know is going to be a little bit more consistent.”

Wide receiver teammate Dontayvion Wicks responded to the remarks on social media.

He quoted the Jacobs comments and added four laughing emojis followed by a thumbs down.

Jacobs just completed his first season with the Packers after moving from the Las Vegas Raiders.

He finished with 1,329 rushing yards in 2024 as well as 15 touchdowns – a single-season career high.

But they didn’t have a single receiver hit 1,000 yards or 10 touchdowns.

Jayden Reed led the way with 857 yards and six scores.

Tight end Tucker Kraft led the team with seven touchdowns and had 707 yards.

Christian Watson racked up 620 yards and two touchdowns while Romeo Doubs had 601 with four scores.

Wicks had five touchdowns to go with his 415 receiving yards.

Green Bay lost one of the league’s leading receivers Davante Adams to the Raiders in March 2024.

Adams, 32, was traded to the New York Jets this year to play with Aaron Rodgers.

But he faces an uncertain future in New York with Rodgers yet to decide on whether he’ll retire.

Jacobs would welcome an Adams return to Green Bay next season.

Jacobs said, “I think he’s an amazing receiver, an amazing person.

“Obviously I would want to see what it would cost us But I do think we have a spot for him.”

“He’s a great leader. I may have only seen him drop two passes at practice the whole year. He’s one of those guys who puts the work in.

“He’s going to lead the younger guys the right way. He’s going to give you nuggets that you can’t really coach. The way that he sees the game is just different.”
