Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are eyeing the NFL’s first-ever three-peat, taking on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
Kelce, in his 11th season playing with the Chiefs, is on the verge of entering the Super Bowl record books, just three catches away from passing Jerry Rice for the most catches in Super Bowl history. Not to mention his three rings. The tight end has certainly entered himself into the Pro Football Hall of Fame talks.
But before Kelce was in Kansas City or dating Taylor Swift, he was a hooper. While playing quarterback for Cleveland Heights High School, he also played basketball. However, he elected to pursue a football career, entering college as a QB with the Cincinnati Bearcats.
On Wednesday, the Chiefs took to social media to post a photo of Kelce from his young years in basketball gear. The post also includes wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins’ childhood photo.

NFL fans thought the photo of a young Kelce was amusing, taking to social media as well to leave their jokes.
“Travis look little channing tatum here,” one fan said.
“Why does Kelce look like the rizzler?” asked another.
“Thought that was a young Luka,” joked a third.
“Travis look like he can keep a secret,” added a fourth.
“Were the refs giving him all the calls in elementary school too?” questioned a fifth.
“Travis looks like he’s about 12 and 6 feet tall,” wrote a sixth.
Although his basketball career didn’t pan out, his football career certainly did. And even at the age of 35, Kelce is still producing at a high level. Through two playoff games, including the win over the Texans and over the Bills in the AFC championship, the tight end recorded nine catches for 136 yards and one touchdown.
The Chiefs will take on the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX at Ceasars Superdome on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
