The Cleveland Browns have officially announced the promotion of Senior Offensive Assistant Bill Musgrave to Quarterback Coach heading into the 2025 NFL season.
Musgrave has been with the Browns since the spring of 2023 and has a reputation for being extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the quarterback position in general. He’s been working with NFL QBs since 1997 when he became the Quarterback Coach with the Oakland Raiders for then Head Coach Joe Bugel.
Since then, he’s been the official QB Coach for seven other NFL teams, along with holding the role for two collegiate teams as well.
#Browns senior offensive assistant Bill Musgrave is taking on the role of quarterbacks coach in 2025, source confirms.
It’s a role he’s held around the league, including with the Broncos (2017), Eagles (2014), Falcons (2006-2010) and a number of other teams over his career.
Needless to say, Musgrave is more than qualified to handle the role in 2025 and is well-connected throughout the league regarding current players as well.
It’s going to be interesting to see whether or not his presence in the QB room influences the team’s curiosity in the current veteran QB market.
Musgrave is tied to Derek Carr, FWIW. Carr’s first two Pro Bowl appearances came under Musgrave in Oakland in ‘15-‘16 when he was OC #DawgPound
