The Green Bay Packers have to decide on the futures of some of their key players, as 11 of them will hit free agency this offseason, including starting center, Josh Myers.

Myers, drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, has made 56 starts for the Green Bay Packers. After missing 11 games in his rookie campaign, the Ohio State product only missed one game in the next three years (including playoffs).

The only game Myers missed was the Green Bay Packers’ Week 9 defeat against the Detroit Lions. The 26-year-old pretty much played through pectoral and wrist injuries in 2024.

Myers was one of the worst-rated centers in the NFL (via PFF) in 2024, as he’s tied for 30th out of 32 centers that played at least 500 offensive snaps. If Green Bay cuts ties with him, Myers should garner some interest from rival teams in the open market.

Green Bay Packers’ Brian Gutekunst reveals his true feelings on Josh Myers

Brian Gutekunst heaped praise on Josh Myers, despite his uneven 2024 campaign. According to the Green Bay Packers general manager, Myers is an asset to the squad because of his chemistry with quarterback Jordan Love.

“I thought he had his best year. He dealt with some things during this year that were tough, and I thought he fought through it like a champion. He’s certainly an asset to our football team. I know Jordan (Love) trusts him very much as his center,” Gutekunst said about Myers via Brandon Carwile of the Packers Wire.

“He’s a UFA, so we’ll see where all that goes, but I can’t say enough good things about Josh Myers, not only as a player but as a leader. He really does embody a Green Bay Packer and kind of what we’re looking for,” he concluded.
