The injuries that plagued the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive line forced several new formations and led to unexpected appearances by several players. One of those players was recruited through the NFL’s International Player Pathway program.
Chukwuebuka Godrick, a native of Nigeria, entered the program in 2022 and was later signed by the Chiefs as part of their developmental plans. He spent the next few seasons on the practice squad without being called up to the active roster.
He was elevated from the practice squad in 2025, making his NFL debut in Week 15 after an injury to veteran offensive lineman Jaylon Moore. He was able to start the final three games of the season after officially being signed to the active roster in late December.
“All our young guys are playing,” said head coach Andy Reid during a press conference last month, “They’re in there and going. Chu (Godrick) actually got some good reps in there and might have a chance to get some more, and he was our international player, so we’ve got them all going. They’re all rolling, yeah.”
Godrick will be looking to capitalize on his four games played this season and build on them in training camp.
