Dallas Cowboys activate Trevon Diggs for possible return

The Dallas Cowboys have included cornerback Trevon Diggs on their 53-man roster, offering him a chance to play in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on September 4th.

Diggs, who underwent knee surgery on January 23rd, has missed the entire offseason, training camp, and preseason while rehabilitating. His recent participation in practice suggests a potential return to the field.

“The conditioning, mainly, it’s different,” Diggs said regarding his return to practice. “So in practice, I make sure that I’m always running to the ball, always running.”

The Cowboys made several roster adjustments on Monday to meet the 53-man maximum by Tuesday afternoon, with Diggs’ activation being a significant move.

Despite his absence from the offseason activities, Diggs is focused on improving his physical conditioning to be game-ready.

“[I’m] doing extra gassers, I’m doing everything I can just to be, physically conditioned for, you know, the game,” Diggs added.

While it’s uncertain if Diggs will be ready for the season opener, his inclusion on the roster and return to practice indicate a positive step towards his recovery and potential contribution to the team.
