🔥 Latest 49ers Injury Update: George Kittle Reports “Hamstring Irritation” Post-Game 🏈

49ers injury news: George Kittle's hamstring irritation makes him day-to-day - Niners Nation

Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan gave some injury updates on Monday.

During his media availability on Monday, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan gave injury updates on three players.

He revealed that tight end George Kittle was dealing with some hamstring discomfort on Monday, which the team will be watching closely throughout the week. He also noted that rookie cornerback Renardo Green and punter Mitch Wishnowsky are both day-to-day and being evaluated.

Kittle’s status is obviously the most important of the trio. After getting Christian McCaffrey back onto the field after losing Brandon Aiyuk for the season, the Niners would hate to be down a different impact skill-position player. Kittle was targetted just four times on Sunday but hauled in three receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown.

The Niners have already dealt with a slew of injuries to their specialists this season. After cycling through kickers earlier in the year, the 49ers punter continues to deal with a back ailment of his own. San Francisco did work out a punter last week.

Here are Shanahan’s full comments:

“Alright guys, injuries from the game: [CB] Renardo [Green], just his toe, he’ll be day-to-day here, [TE George] Kittle had some hamstring irritation today so we’ll see how the week goes with him, see how he feels on Wednesday, and same thing with [P] Mitch Wishnowsky with his, his back flared up a little so we’re going to evaluate some treatment options this week and see how he deals these next couple days. And that’s it from the game.”

Nick Bosa said after the game that he was affected by the hip pointer injury he suffered during the week. Shanahan said Bosa was sore, likely because Bosa missed most of the week of practice, but he came out of the Sunday’s came alright.

The hope is to get wide receiver Chris Conley back from injury, while defensive tackle Kevin Givens is a wait-and-see approach. Shanahan does not expect to open Dre Greenlaw’s practice window ahead of Week 11.

As for cornerback Charvarius Ward: “I think there’s a chance for him to come back this week just talking to him over the weekend. I haven’t got a chance to talk to him today. Probably do that sooner than later and see where he is at, but I’ve got no updates right now.”

Offensive lineman Jon Feliciano did not have a setback. Shanahan said Feliciano was downgraded to out against Tampa Bay because “that’s just something you do when you’re not going to play him.”
