2025 Scouting Combine: Cowboys holding formal interviews

The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine is underway, and the Dallas Cowboys are looking to get younger at a lot of positions as they have over 20 pending free agents.

Before the draft in April, every team has the chance to head to Indianapolis to get an early look at the talent that will be coming out of college.

More than 300 prospects for the 2025 NFL draft get to participate in front of coaches, scouts and front office executives. Each prospect will interview with teams, go through medical evaluations and/or participate in on-field workouts, among other activities.

That leads me to what the point of this post is, to give everyone an update on who the Dallas Cowboys have met with thus far.

Getting A Feel

Now obviously, the Dallas Cowboys don’t have enough picks to draft every single guy on this list, and some of them won’t even be around for them to draft. Still, a few of these names are guys that have been on projected mocks for this football team.

Three or four guys are ones that I have even written about over the last month or so. Some of these guys would be a great fit for a team that needs to replenish a roster under a rookie head coach.

The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine runs through Sunday, March 2.

The 2025 NFL Draft will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with the first round on Thursday, April 24. Rounds 2 and 3 will be held on Friday, April 25, with the final rounds taking place on Saturday, April 26.

You may see that Dallas has not met with Ashton Jeanty, the running back that everyone seems to want the Dallas Cowboys to draft.

After looking around, the reason why made a little bit of sense.

Per Nick Harris, a Dallas Cowboys insider instead of meeting with Jeanty in Indianapolis, the Cowboys will simply meet with him during their Dallas Day pre-draft event in Frisco, rather than using one of their select few visits at the combine.

One other guy that I LOVE is Jeffrey Bassa, the linebacker from Oregon. I have written about him in many posts over the last few months.

For a roster that has a huge need at linebacker, this is a guy they could get in the second or third round.

Marist Liufau is the only guy that we can pencil in as of right now for the line backing core.

As a freshman and a 48-3.0-1.0 line. He saw his role expand a bit and finished with 62-4.0-2.0 the following year. He posted lines of 72-4.0-0.0 and 54-3.0-1.5 over the past two seasons to conclude his collegiate career.

The best thing about him is his length, which makes him a really good tackler, yet he isn’t the fastest guy in the world, so covering sideline to sideline may be tough for him.

I could talk about all these guys on the list above, but Bassa is my favorite and a guy that I hope to see the Cowboys draft in April.

Keep a close eye on some of these guys, this week is huge for them as in years past has helped players climb up the draft board.
