The Cleveland Browns and their fans simply cannot catch a break.
After a very dismal 3-14 season that saw starting quarterback Deshaun Watson tear his Achilles and multiple key players get traded, Myles Garrett, the star defensive end who is their best player, asked to be traded.
There will undoubtedly be many teams lining up to win Garrett’s services, and perhaps the Browns will end up getting a decent haul in return for last season’s Defensive Player of the Year.
In Texas, Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons has been looking to get a contract extension for the last several months, which has led a few to wonder if he may request a trade himself.
Parsons was asked whether he’s surprised Garrett asked to be traded, and he said while he is, a part of him perhaps isn’t, per Zach Gelb.
“Am I surprised? Yeah, because of how long he’s been in Cleveland, put his heart out for Cleveland. But I’m afraid a player of his caliber may have maxed out what he’s done. He has no quarterback, their money is tied up.”
"I don't plan on following suit as long as I get a deal done."

For the last several years, Garrett has been one of the NFL’s premier players at his position.
This year, he had 14.0 sacks and 28 quarterback hits, and he led everyone with 22 tackles for loss while earning his first straight Pro Bowl nod.
A couple of years ago, when the Browns traded for Watson, as well as star wide receiver Amari Cooper, it looked like they had assembled a strong roster, but Watson’s struggles and subsequent injury, as well as the devastating knee injury to running back Nick Chubb have ruined their plans.
They appear to be in the process of hitting the reset button, and Garrett’s trade demand could expedite that implosion process.
