Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills 32-29 on Sunday night to advance to their third consecutive Super Bowl.
Although he had a quiet night with two receptions for 19 yards, Kelce had another stellar year, securing his 10th career Pro Bowl nod. He concluded the regular season with 97 receptions for 823 yards and three touchdowns.
Even though being named to the Pro Bowl is always an honor, Kelce won’t be heading to Orlando, Fla., for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games. Instead, he’ll remain in Kansas City and focus on preparing for his fifth Super Bowl appearance with his team.
On Monday, the NFL announced Kelce’s replacement: Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith.
“Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith has been named to the AFC roster for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games, the NFL announced Monday,” the Miami Dolphins press release read.
Smith recently wrapped up his first season in Miami, having become a Pro Bowler for the first time in his eight-year NFL career. In 2024, he recorded 88 receptions for 884 yards and eight touchdowns.
Kelce wasn’t the only Kansas City player to be replaced for the Pro Bowl. He was joined by four of his teammates, including offensive guards Joe Thuney and Trey Smith, center Creed Humphrey and defensive tackle Chris Jones.
All five of those players will be in New Orleans for the Super Bowl on Feb. 9. They’ll take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
