BREAKING: 🚨 Is Jerry Rice Sending a Warning? πŸ€” His Strange Message Might Signal Andy Reid Made the Wrong Call on Patrick Mahomes! 🏈

Jerry Rice's bizarre message could tell Andy Reid that his decision with Patrick Mahomes isn't right

The three-time Super Bowl champion, Jerry Rice, has potentially told the Kansas City Chiefs they are wrong to drop Patrick Mahomes for the final game of the regular season against the Denver Broncos, as they prepare for the NFL Playoffs.

With the AFC West in the bag and the lead of the AFC Conference, and thus home field berth in the postseason clinched, Andy Reid has made the decision to rest his 29-year-old star in a match that’s effectively meaningless as far as the Chiefs are concerned.

So Carson Wentz will start the contest at the Empower Field on January 5 but Rice, who has no relation to the ChiefsRashee Rice, possibly isn’t too happy with the decision based on a post to social media.

“GOATS DON’T REST,” Rice posted to Instagram whilst wearing a suit on board a flight. It’s likely an ego-boosting message for himself but could the words be for Reid and Mahomes that the quarterback should be on the field?

Is Reid’s decision to rest Mahomes morally right?

It’s not only Mahomes that will be rested for the Week 18 clash. The team hasn’t revealed who just yet, but other starters will be benched for Sunday’s game in Colorado with Travis Kelce (tight end) and Chris Jones (defensive tackle) tipped to get a break.

That hands the Broncos a huge advantage considering they only need a win to seal the final AFC spot in the playoffs, but it will mean the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts and the Cincinnati Bengals will feel hard done by.

Particularly the Bengals, who already faced the Chiefs in 2024/25 and were handed a loss whilst the Broncos almost get a free hit in a must-win game. The question becomes, is it morally right for Reid to rest his players in a such a key game in the context of the rest of the NFL?
