It’s safe to say that NFL fans are not happy with Travis Kelce’s selection to the 2025 Pro Bowl, so much so that they even involved pop star Taylor Swift-girlfriend of the Kansas City Chiefs star.
On Thursday, the NFL announced its Pro Bowl roster for 2025, with Kelce making the cut as one of two tight ends representing the AFC. Las Vegas Raiders rookie Brock Bowers made the Pro Bowl for the conference along with the Chiefs TE.
However, fans couldn’t help but take issue with his selection since Kelce isn’t really having a great season. In fact, most of his numbers are down this year, having recorded 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns so far this campaign.
If he fails to add another touchdown, this season would be his lowest-scoring year since his rookie season when he played just one game and didn’t score. He could also very well end up with his lowest receiving yards total since his first year.
That being said, many argued that Kelce only made it to the Pro Bowl because his girlfriend is Swift. As fans would know, the Chiefs star led the Pro Bowl fan voting.
“How did Travis Swift make it?” a commenter asked sarcastically.
“The only reason why punk [expletive] Kelce is in this is because he’s on the Chiefs and dating Childless Cat Lady Swift. He’s been [expletive] all season,” a critic added.
“Kelce on there because of TS?” a follower said. Another harsh critic shared, “Is Kelce allowed to go did he ask Taylor for permission.”
An angry NFL fan wrote, “Kelce doesn’t deserve it. Swiftie votes should be voided.”
“Travis Kelce only got in because of all the Swifties,” a sixth poster claimed.

While a case can be made that there are other TEs who are more deserving of a Pro Bowl spot than Kelce, there’s also no denying that the Chiefs veteran is one of the greatest tight ends ever.
His relationship with Taylor Swift may have played a role in fan voting, but at the end of the day, the fact remains that he has a reputation as a top player in his position. Besides, the NFL knows very well that Kelce brings viewers to the game.
