“Liar;” Green Bay Packers Fans React To Bewildering Aaron Rodgers Comments About The Jets

The Green Bay Packers have achieved higher levels of success than many thought they would when they traded four-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets prior to the 2023 NFL Draft. With Jordan Love under center, the Packers have reached the postseason in which of the past two years. They went from 8-9 in Rodgers’ final season in 2022, to 9-8 in 2023, and now sit at 11-5 heading into Week 18.

Rodgers, meanwhile, has not had anywhere near the same level of success as Green Bay, nor the level of success he enjoyed as the Packers quarterback. Last season, of course, he missed all but four snaps of the season after tearing his Achilles in Week One.

This year, Rodgers has had arguably the worst season of his career, completing 63.0% of his passes for 3,623 yards, 24 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and an 89.1 passer rating.

The Jets have been even worse as a whole. They are currently 4-12 despite trying, quite literally, everything they could think of to right the ship. They fired Robert Saleh after a 2-3 start; general manager Joe Douglas was fired midseason; Davante Adams was acquired via trade.

Nothing has worked.

Needless to say, things have been bad in New York, and Rodgers has received a great deal of the blame for how the Jets season has turned out. One of his own teammates, wide receiver Garrett Wilson, indicated that he would not sign an extension with New York if Rodgers returned to the team in 2025.

Yesterday, Tuesday, it was reported that the Jets do, indeed, plan on moving on from Rodgers (and Adams) next season.

While that is not a certainty yet, it does appear that the future Pro Football Hall of Famer’s days in New York are numbered. When asked about how he views his two years with the Jets, Rodgers said:

“It’s been the best two years of my life.”

Packers fans are not so sure he is being honest with the media, nor himself.

In 18 years in Green Bay (15 as the starting quarterback), Rodgers won a Super Bowl, Super Bowl MVP, four NFL MVP’s, and was named to the Pro Bowl 10 times.

Needless to say, fans have a hard time believing that the two tumultuous years in New York have been the “best” in his entire life:

It really is a hard comment to believe, given the circumstances.
