Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka is coming to the end of a productive college football career that included 2,681 yards and 23 touchdowns, and could have the chance to join the NFL’s top Super Bowl contender next year.

Egbuka is headed to the NFL draft and is projected as a late first-round pick, which could put him in the sights of the repeat Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports projected that Egbuka would be the last pick in the first round next year, heading to Kansas City to join an offense led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Wilson wrote that Egbuka’s physical style could be a good addition for the Chiefs.

“Emeka Egbuka is a big-bodied, fluid mover with natural hands, good contact balance and the ability to run through arm tackles,” Wilson wrote. “He gets in and out of breaks with urgency and has yards-after-catch ability. He’s not a finesse player but more of a bruiser. When you talk about ‘big slots,’ this is what you mean. I think he has some Amon-Ra St. Brown in his game.”

Egbuka made 65 receptions for 824 yards with nine touchdowns this season, helping lead an Ohio State offense that earned a No. 8 seed in the College Football Playoff.

The Chiefs will pick near the end of the first round, having clinched the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC and a favorite to return to the Super Bowl while seeking an NFL-record third-straight title.
