The Chicago Blackhawks may have a small representation of their prospect pool at this year’s World Juniors, but the two prospects they have in it helped their teams win on Day 3 of the tournament.

Oliver Moore and Jiri Felcman picked up an assist in their country’s victories.

Moore is considered the Hawks’ sixth-best prospect according to the Athletic’s Corey Pronman (a subscription is required to access the linked content). He played for Team USA in last year’s tournament and is going for his second tournament championship.

He picked up the secondary assist on Team USA’s final goal of its 5-1 victory over Latvia.

Moore is the alternate captain in his second stint on Team USA’s World Junior roster. He is skating on the third line. He got 15:08 of ice time and registered two shots on goal in the victory over Latvia.

Moore was the other player the Hawks took in the first round of the NHL Draft in 2023 after selecting Connor Bedard first overall. Moore is currently a sophomore at Minnesota, where he is teammates with another Hawks’ first-round pick, defenseman Sam Rinzel, who was one of three players the team took in the 2022 draft.

Felcman registered an assist on Czechia’s third goal of a 14-2 drubbing of Kazakhstan. It was his second assist of the tournament for the Hawks’ 2023 third-round pick.

Jiri is skating on Czechia’s top line.

The forward is not listed in any of the Hawks’ top 25 prospects rankings. Our Ethan Gawronski listed Jiri as an honorable mention prospect, meaning he is just outside the top 25 list for now.

He is 6’4″, and the Hawks could use someone of his size in the bottom six someday. Jiri did get an amateur tryout with the Rockford IceHogs last March when the team closed out the season.
