Though Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift didn’t spend Christmas together – Kelce’s Chiefs played a Christmas Day game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh and Swift no longer attends away games – that doesn’t mean that things are cooling off in their relationship.
In fact, they’re getting even more serious.
With Swift’s “Eras Tour” wrapping up on Dec. 8 with her final show in Vancouver, Canada putting a bow on her record-breaking two-year, 149-show, five-continent world tour, she’s prioritized her self-care and spent some time with her family and friends as she’s settled back into a non-touring lifestyle.
There have been rumors circulating for months that Swift and Kelce are planning an engagement after the NFL season, and while seemingly everyone is sitting back and waiting for Kelce to pop the question, the couple is reportedly taking a huge step in their relationship.
Per Page Six, Swift is putting down roots in Nashville, Tennessee to be closer to Kelce, who spends most of his year in Kansas City, Missouri with the Chiefs. Swift’s new permanent residence is only 90 minutes away by plane, which is much closer than her other homes in Los Angeles and New York.
“It looks like this may be Taylor’s domestic era,” a source told Page Six. “…It also looks like Taylor is going to make Nashville more of a home base than LA or NY since it’s closer to Kansas City, and her mom Andrea loves [Nashville] too.”
The news of Swift’s big move come on the heels of Kelce’s Christmas gift to her – a new state-of-the-art security system, a 24/7 security staff and a safe room at his Leawood, Kansas residence after it was broken into back in October.
Swift has reportedly been on “high alert” after the burglary, and Kelce spared no expense to put her at ease about feeling safe when she was at his home.
With Swift moving closer to Kelce and planning to spend more time with him, it could signal that she’s ready to fully embrace the role of football wife, much like her good friends Brittany Mahomes, the wife of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and Chariah Gordon, the fiancée of receiver Mecole Hardman.
“Taylor is really embracing WAG life,” the Page Six source continued. “I think she’s adapted so well to WAG life because she truly understands what it’s like to be part of a team – especially coming off ‘Eras’ where she formed such a close connection with her band, dancers, singers and crew. She appreciates that sort of camaraderie and collaboration, that kind of chosen family. She fully gets and respects those bonds and why they need to be supported.”
