After officially clinching a second consecutive playoff berth with Monday night’s blowout win over the New Orleans Saints, the Packers are suddenly the team that no other team wants to stare across the sideline at when the postseason gets underway next month.

And, for good reason, as the Packers have surpassed 30 or more points in each of the last five weeks, the longest such active streak in the league at this point, and are firing on all cylinders.

Yet, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is far from satisfied.

After shutting out the Saints inside frigid Lambeau Field on Monday night, 34-0, LaFleur needed just 10 words to sum up his next goal for these white-hot Packers.

“Score every time we possess the ball,” LaFleur told reporters. “Score touchdowns.”

Monday night, the Packers came close, putting points on the board on all but two of Green Bay’s eight possessions before spending the final drive kneeling down on the ball. Green Bay also scored touchdowns on four of six scoring drives and all four trips into the red zone.

However, it is one thing to put up that kind of offensive explosion against a wounded and beleaguered Saints team led by backup quarterback Spencer Rattler and an interim head coach. But, LaFleur might not be wrong that it may take offensive perfection to take down the likes of the Detroit Lions or Minnesota Vikings or Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs.

Green Bay will get a taste of what a playoff game against the division-rival Vikings might be like, as the Packers look to play spoiler on Sunday afternoon of Minnesota’s bid for the No. 1 seed and homefield advantage in the NFC.
