Pats Pulpit Reacts: Offensive tackle the Patriots’ most important need next offseason

Following the departures of Isaiah Wynn and Trent Brown in consecutive offseasons and the move of Michael Onwenu to guard, offensive tackle ranks at the top of the New England Patriots’ needs heading into this offseason according to Patriots fans.

81 percent of fans selected tackle as the team’s highest priority this offseason. Potential free agents Ronnie Stanley, Morgan Moses, and Cam Robinson are names to watch, as are draft prospects Will Campbell and Kelvin Banks.

Wide receiver was the team’s next need with 17 percent of fans selecting it. Tee Higgins may be the biggest name on the market, while Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter and Arizona’s Tet McMillan are players to watch in the draft.

Defensive line garnered just two percent of responses.

Following another late season bye, Patriots fans would like an earlier one next season. But not too early! 77 percent of respondents would prefer the team’s week off to come in the middle of the season.

Eight percent like the late bye and would like another one, while three percent want it early in the schedule. 12 percent of fans had no preference.

With the team off this week, there was essentially no movement in the fan confidence tracker. 47 percent of Patriots fans were confident in the direction of the team a week ago, and 46 percent are confident this week.

The Patriots are currently on their bye week, but they will visit the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15. As of Sunday morning, New England is listed as 6.5-point underdogs on FanDuel Sportsbook.
