Andy Reid Reveals Significant Kansas City Chiefs Injury News Before Cleveland Browns Matchup - Athlon Sports

The Kansas City Cheifs are preparing to take on the hapless Cleveland Browns this week, and they’re doing so while dealing with injuries at some important positions.

After suffering significant injuries along the offensive line, Kansas City made a move last month to potentially help offer quarterback Patrick Mahomes some protection.

General manager Brett Veach made a deal to bring in offensive lineman D.J. Humphries from the Arizona Cardinals.

Humphries finally made his first start of the season against the Chargers on Sunday and left the game in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury. Former starter Wanya Morris replaced him for the team’s final nine snaps.

On Monday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid indicated that while Humphries is feeling better, they’re waiting on MRI results before injecting him back into practice this week.

Reid once again updated the media on Humphries’ condition after practice on Thursday.

“As far as guys that didn’t practice today, D.J. did not practice today,” Reid said. “We’ll just keep on with this thing and see where we end up by Sunday. But the other guys worked in and did a nice job, kind of had a little rotation going there, we’ll just see where we end up.”

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was sacked three times and hit another 13 times against the Chargers’ defense. They’ll have to do better than that against a stout Browns defense that’s registered 53 sacks this season.
