The 24-year-old tight end was placed on injured reserve last October due to an ankle injury that required surgery. Musgrave took part in his first on-field work last Wednesday. Barring any setbacks, Green Bay could activate him at any time in the next three weeks. Otherwise, he will revert to season-ending injured reserve.

As a rookie, Luke Musgrave tallied 34 catches for 352 yards and a touchdown in 11 games. This season, the 2023 second-round pick only notched five catches for 22 yards in the first four games before going down with an injury.

Fellow 2023 draftee Tucker Kraft has stepped up in Luke Musgrave’s absence, ranking first on the Green Bay Packers in receiving touchdowns (7), second in receptions (39), and third in receiving yards (521).

Luke Musgrave’s impending return has Jordan Love excited because it gives the Green Bay quarterback another weapon to work with in the coming weeks.

Luke Musgrave is determined to play again for the Green Bay Packers

Luke Musgrave can’t wait to return to the field to help Green Bay. According to the former Oregon State star, he plans to be back in the fold “as soon as possible.”

“I don’t know if there’s a timeline, but as soon as possible that they’ll let me go, I’ll go,” Musgrave said via The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman. “I want to go out there and contribute in a positive way for the team, whether it’s a limited role or however they see me. Whenever that time comes, we’ll be back.”

Musgrave will unlikely be cleared to play against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday since he would need to be added to the Green Bay Packers active roster.
