You won’t believe what we heard while Kansas City was defeating Los Angeles to win the AFC West.
- “Why the heck is some random ‘SNL’ woman giving bulletin board material to the Chargers? Can Andy Reid fine her?”
- “1964 Paul McCartney didn’t get mobbed as much as Patrick Mahomes does when he drops back to pass.”
- “I wish our $80 million right tackle could do his job half as well as these placekickers we keep dragging off the street.”
- “As long as the Mets have the checkbook out, we should see if they’ll pick up Jawaan Taylor’s contract.”
- “Wow! Justin Herbert’s left leg must’ve done something really bad to tick off Nick Bolton so much!”
- “Okay… the experiment of giving the team Sudafed at halftime obviously didn’t work.”
- “Since Alabama didn’t make the playoffs, can we borrow their left tackle?”
- “Even Indiana Jones is saying, ‘Guys, these escapes from death are getting a little unrealistic.’”
- “Okay, break out the ‘2024 AFC West Champs’ t-shirts we ordered back in 2023.”
Chiefs React to Postgame Handshake Between Andy Reid, Jim Harbaugh
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and his Los Angeles Chargers counterpart, Jim Harbaugh, shared a cool moment after their Week 14 showdown on Sunday.
After the Chiefs’ thrilling 19-17 victory over the Chargers, Reid and Harbaugh met at midfield, exchanging a handshake that symbolized their mutual respect and admiration for one another. The moment was captured on camera and later shared by the Chiefs on social media.
“Two of the greats,” the team wrote on X along with a handshake emoji, as they gave the two coaches their much-deserved recognition.
The team further stated, “Always a battle, @chargers!”
The Chargers came incredibly close to handing the Chiefs just their second loss of the season. However, Kansas City once again proved tough to beat.
With Patrick Mahomes leading the charge, the Chiefs managed to get into field-goal range, setting up a dramatic ending with just a second left on the clock. Matthew Wright’s kick as time expired appeared to drift left, seemingly heading wide of the goal post. But in an incredible twist, the ball struck the upright and bounced in, securing the game-winning three points.
Although the Chargers lost, Jim Harbaugh definitely deserved a ton of credit with how he planned for the game and guided his team. His defense managed to hold the Chiefs to just six points in the second half, making it a nail-biting finish that could have gone either way.
As for Andy Reid, his ability to guide the Chiefs to victory, even in tough situations, continues to stand out. While Kansas City’s recent victories haven’t been dominant, their resilience speaks volumes about Reid’s leadership and the quality of the squad he has built.
