What's Too Many Injuries for the 11-1 Detroit Lions? We May Find Out Tonight.

It’s no secret the Detroit Lions have a whole lot of injuries.

But as injuries mount, we’ll see if the 11-1 Lions can plow through with some of the new additions General Manager Brad Holmes has added. The team has pretty tough challenges ahead with a schedule that includes the Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings.

It has Detroit Free Press columnist Jeff Seidel wondering what’s ahead:

But as the injuries have mounted and the schedule grows increasingly difficult, I gotta admit I’m having doubts.

There was a time when I was 100 percent certain the Lions were going to make the Super Bowl. I bought a plane ticket to New Orleans, and the return trip to Detroit the day after the Super Bowl was so stupid expensive that I’m fairly certain there are a whole bunch of Lions fans who have done the same.

The battle tonight (Thursday) at 8:15 p.m. at Ford Field against the Packers may be very telling as to whether the team has reached a tipping point when it comes to injuries.

A Lions victory may be the Rolaids fans need to settle their nervous digestive tracks.
