BREAKING NEWS : Zack Martin nominated for Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award

Zack-Martin--‘Definitely-getting-closer-to-the-end-hero

FRISCO, Texas – Cowboys All-Pro offensive lineman Zack Martin was named Dallas’ nominee for the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, given each year to an NFL player for his excellence and impact on and off the field.

Martin has played at an All-Pro level for a majority of his career on the field, but has also contributed to his community off the field. His involvement with the National Medal of Honor Museum showcases that, where he raises awareness and honors Medal of Honor recipients throughout the year.

And Martin has gotten his teammates involved as well, as the National Medal of Honor Museum has become a “My Cause My Cleats” tradition for the Cowboys offensive line, who have dedicated at least one of their cleats to the cause for the last three seasons. Martin will do so again in 2024.

Additionally, Martin is a big proponent in the Cowboys relationship with The Salvation Army and other philanthropic team activities. For over a decade, he and his family are participants in handing out Early Thanksgiving Day meals, providing Christmas gifts through The Salvation Army Angel Tree program, annual holiday visits to local children’s hospitals, and more.

Dak Prescott was the last Cowboy to win the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2022, joining Jason Witten (2012), Troy Aikman (1997), and Roger Staubach (1978) as the other Dallas players to win the award. The winner of the award will be named at NFL Honors on Thursday, February 8 and will receive a $250,000 donation to the charity of their choice. All 32 nominees will receive up to a $55,000 donation to the charity of their choice.
