The Cleveland Browns have announced the re-signing of QB Bailey Zappe to the active roster as well as the waiving of WR Jaelon Darden this morning.
Zappe, the team’s “emergency” quarterback over the past few weeks, was recently cut loose and then brought back all within a span of 72 hours. He was moved in order for the Browns to promote DT Jowon Briggs from the practice squad for the Broncos game on Monday.
He’ll most likely continue to serve as the third QB on game day going forward.
Darden, who’s done a fairly decent job as a kick returner in 2024 was waived this morning in order to make room for Zappe on the 53-man roster.

There’s a good chance that Darden will be signed back to Cleveland’s practice squad within the next few days.
