BREAKING: Is Trevon Diggs Playing? Full List of Cowboys Inactives For Giants Matchup

Is Trevon Diggs Playing? Full List of Cowboys Inactives For Giants Matchup - Newsweek

The Dallas Cowboys are taking on their divisional rivals in the New York Giants in an important Thanksgiving game. One of the biggest questions heading into the game is whether star cornerback Trevon Diggs will play.

Diggs has been playing with a groin injury and has entered Thursday with a questionable status. Now, the Cowboys have decided if the star secondary player will suit up.

According to the full list of inactive for the Cowboys, Diggs will not be playing against the Giants.

Joining Diggs as inactive are offensive lineman Zack Martin, running back Deuce Vaughn, cornerback Andrew Booth, defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, tight end Jake Ferguson, and wide receiver Ryan Flournoy.

Diggs being inactive is going to severely impact the Cowboys’ secondary. However, the good news is that the team has DaRon Bland back.

Bland sat out for most of the 2024 season due to a stress fracture he suffered during training camp. Bland will now likely line up next to Josh Butler with Diggs being out. C.J. Goodwin might also set up as the right-side cornerback. The hope is that there are no more injuries to the Cowboys’ secondary, as they are dealing with a massive amount of injuries to the position.

Two of the other significant inactive players on the list are Martin and Ferguson. Martin has been dealing with an ankle injury that has kept him out of two games so far.

Ferguson suffered a concussion in Week 11 and missed Week 12 due to a head injury. Now, he will miss his second consecutive game due to remaining in concussion protocol.

The Cowboys are looking to rebound even more after coming up with a huge upset victory against the Washington Commanders in Week 12. The win snapped a five-game losing streak.

Dallas needs to win big again on Thursday against the Giants to ensure they keep their postseason hopes alive. The NFC is stacked with solid teams who are all battling for playoff spots, and if the Cowboys lose two more games – they will all but lose out on a chance to make the playoffs.

The Cowboys have had to deal with multiple significant injuries like losing Dak Prescott for the season, along with being without defensive star DeMarcus Lawrence. Despite the loss of key players, the team rebounded against the Commanders. They will look to do the same against the Giants.
