🚨BREAKING: Former Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier has officially endorsed an Aaron Rodgers return, stating he believes the 42-year-old veteran can lead Pittsburgh to a Super Bowl in 2026. With Mike McCarthy now at the helm, Shazier emphasized that Rodgers’ leadership and familiarity with McCarthy’s system make him the perfect fit to mentor the team’s young offensive core toward another Lombardi Trophy. 👇

As the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to wait to hear from Aaron Rodgers, at least one former player is giving an endorsement to the team this season. Ryan Shazier believes that the Steelers can win a Super Bowl with Rodgers in 2026.

“He’s won his Super Bowl and one thing that’s great about the Steelers is that we have veteran leadership all around the team,” Shazier said, per R.org. “I think that we can go on one more run. I think that we have the pieces, especially on the offensive side now and I would love to see Aaron hoist another Lombardi Trophy for the city of Pittsburgh.”

Shazier played linebacker for the Steelers, during the team’s last season with a playoff win. That came all the way back in 2016.

The Steelers are still waiting to hear officially if Rodgers will come back in 2026.

“I think the one thing that Aaron brings to the table is that he’s a leader,” said Shazier. “He’s won a Super Bowl before. It’s really nice that he’s going to have a former coach that he’s had before, so they have the same terminology. But I think the one thing that the Steelers are transitioning is we have a younger team. With us having a younger team in certain areas, we have an older defense, but the offensive side is younger. With that veteran leadership, somebody that’s been in that role before, and he still has a really strong arm. He still has the same mindset.”

During his one season with Pittsburgh, Rodgers led the Steelers to the NFL Playoffs in 2025. Pittsburgh lost to the Houston Texans in a blowout.

The Steelers have a new head coach in 2026. Mike McCarthy, who worked with Rodgers in Green Bay, is now leading the Black and Gold.
