THE Kansas City Chiefs have been forced to make a free agency signing following injury to backup place kicker Spencer Shrader.
Shrader was only signed earlier this month after starting kicker Harrison Butker was placed on the injury reserve list.

But with the former New York Jets kicker now listed as questionable for the Chiefs’ game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday, the reigning Super Bowl champs have had to make another free agency signing.
Head coach Andy Reid has welcomed veteran kicker Matthew Wright to the roster as a an option to fall back on.

While he has also spent two separate stints with the Chiefs in the past, both coming in the 2022 season.
During his college career he was part of UCF’s unbeaten 2017 team.
While is time in the NFL has seen him convert 43 of 50 field goal attempts for a conversion rate of 86 percent.
He has also made 38 of his 40 PAT attempts.
The Chiefs confirmed that Wright is currently signed to the practice squad for the time being in a post on X.
Other roster changes announced by the Chiefs included signing offensive tackle D.J. Humphries and terminating the practice squad contracts of Truman Jones and Lucas Niang.
The Chiefs currently boast a 10-1 record and look in prime position to make it to their sixth Super Bowl in five years.
