The Cleveland Browns quarterback situation isn’t much clearer after Andrew Berry’s comments at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The Cleveland Browns didn’t offer much clarity on their quarterback situation at the NFL Combine. They ended the season with Shedeur Sanders as starter, who came in in place of the injured Dillon Gabriel. It was a crowded room to start the season that also included Joe Flacco. It also included, and still includes, controversial quarterback Deshaun Watson. According to Browns Executive Vice President of Football Operations, Andrew Berry, who spoke with media on Tuesday at the NFL Combine, nothing is really set in stone for the team. He did, however, seem to indicate that Sanders and Watson specifically would be among the competitors to be the starter next season.
None of these quarterbacks are ultimately Todd Monken’s, the team’s new head coach. He hadn’t committed to Sanders at starter, who took over in the final seven games. And they might not even be the only ones competing, with Berry previously saying that Cleveland may add another quarterback to the roster who could end up as their signal caller. It’s not clear if that’ll come through free agency or the NFL draft.
Here is the full story from Browns Roundtable writer Spencer German on Berry’s comments and what Cleveland’s quarterback situation might look like.
