Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah might never play in the NFL again.
The 26-year-old Cleveland Browns linebacker has not played since suffering a neck injury in October 2024, and according to new reports it’s doubtful he’ll ever return to the field.
Owusu-Koramoah originally injured his neck in Week 8 of the 2024 season when he collided with Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry.
He was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Shortly after, the Browns placed Owusu-Koramoah on reserve/physically unable to perform, and he has been absent ever since.
Now, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com has provided an update on Owusu-Koramoah. Unfortunately, she said the former Notre Dame star’s NFL career is in serious doubt.
“Owusu-Koramoah, who suffered a serious neck injury in a violent collision with Ravens running back Derrick Henry on Oct 27, 2024, is doubtful at best to ever make it back to the playing field, a league source tells cleveland.com,” she wrote.
Fans caught wind of the news and shared their reaction online.

“I’m a Steeler fan but also a big JOK fan. Praying he makes it back on the field,” a third added.
“Dude seriously… man he is a phenomenal LB. So sad,” a fourth commented.

Owusu-Koramoah was a second-round pick for Cleveland in the 2021 NFL Draft.
The Pro Bowl linebacker has appeared in 49 career games and recorded 302 tackles, eight sacks, three interceptions, 17 passes defensed, six forced fumbles and 40 tackles for loss.
Even before last season had started, the Browns ruled him out for the entirety of the campaign.
“Jeremiah’s health is of the utmost importance to us and although he has made progress toward recovery, we’ve made the decision to place him on reserve/PUP, which means he will not play football during the 2025 season,” Browns general manager Andrew Berry said in May 2025.
“Jeremiah has the full support of our team, and we expect him to continue to be a part of the organization even though he will not return to the field this year. We will not make any predictions on Jeremiah’s football future at this time, but we do note that he’s in good spirits and will continue to take the advice of the world-class medical experts who will continue to guide his progress and recovery.”
At the time, Owusu-Koramoah released a statement regarding his future.

I’m grateful to the Browns organization for their full support, and to the world-class doctors guiding me through recovery. “I’ve given my heart to this game. I don’t know what’s next, but I’ll continue trusting my medical team, serving the community, and backing my brothers on the field.”
