The Green Bay Packers’ 2025 Draft Class Ranked NFL’s Worst

Draft and develop.

That’s been the Green Bay Packers’ way of doing business for several years now.

According to NFL.com, though, no NFL team was worse at drafting — and developing — in the 2025 than the Packers.

The website ranked the rookie classes of all 32 teams and Green Bay came in dead last at No. 32. Chicago ranked No. 1, while Cleveland, Seattle, New Orleans and the New York Giants rounded out the top five.

NFC North foes Detroit ranked No. 16 and Minnesota was No. 28.

As we wrote in December, the Packers rookie class was a bust — at least for 2025.

Green Bay’s 2025 draft class included:

Round 1, No. 23 — Matthew Golden, WR

Round 2, No. 54 — Anthony Belton, OT

Round 3, No. 87 — Savion Williams, WR

Round 4, No. 124 — Barryn Sorrell, DE

Round 5, No. 159 — Collin Oliver, DE

Round 6, No. 198 — Warren Brinson, DT

Round 7, No. 237 — Micah Robinson, CB

Round 7, No. 250 — John Williams, OT

Golden became the first wide receiver selected by Green Bay in the first round since 2002. He then had a disappointing rookie season with just 29 receptions for 361 yards (12.4 average) and no touchdowns during the regular season.

Golden did have an impressive playoff game against Chicago with four catches for 84 yards and his first NFL touchdown. That performance offers hope for the future if Green Bay’s offensive coaches find more ways to utilize Golden.

Belton moved into the starting lineup at right guard on Nov. 23 and was subpar, at best. Belton finished the year allowing 23 pressures in 258 pass blocking snaps (8.91%). His overall grade also ranked 71st among 81 guards by Pro Football Focus.

Williams, who remains extremely raw, managed just 10 receptions for 78 yards (7.8) and one touchdown. He was also used as a gadget player with 11 carries for 37 yards, and averaged 25.6 yards per kick return on 28 attempts.

Sorrell had just 15 tackles in 14 games, one tackle for loss and 1.5 sacks. He did have an impressive Week 18 showing against Minnesota, though, with eight tackles, a sack and recovered a fumble.

Oliver didn’t play a snap this season due to a hamstring injury that required surgery in March, 2025. He also missed most of his final collegiate season at Oklahoma State with an injured foot.

Brinson played in 11 games and had 13 tackles, two tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. He was also a healthy scratch for six games.

Robinson spent the first seven weeks of the season on Green Bay’s practice squad, then was signed by Tennessee on Oct. 28.

Williams missed all of training camp with a back injury that required surgery. He spent most of the season on the physically unable to perform list, had his 21-day practice window opened on Dec. 17, but never played a snap.

When the 2025 NFL Draft — which was held in Green Bay — ended, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said: “Really feel good about what we were able to do over the three days. I think we helped our football team.”

That certainly wasn’t the case in 2025.
