Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is making his retirement decision about whether to remain for one more season in the NFL and get back to the big game with the Chiefs for a 2026-27 effort. But, while he’s figuring out his future with the franchise, he’s also living in the moment, and as it turns out, he’ll be back in the public eye soon.
Kelce has booked another public appearance, and so far, it appears that his future wife Taylor Swift won’t be with him. That makes sense, because she’s been limited on her public engagements lately, due to security reasons.
Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs Set to Appear at Another Event
Kelce is slated to appear at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Thursday, February 11. The event, which is the first of the series of Signature Events for the new season, will see 80 professional golfers playing with amateurs.
It’s wild to think of Kelce as an amateur, but in golf, that’s the case. He’s one of the celebrity golfers making an appearance.
Former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith is also teeing it up for the event, which takes place in Pebble Beach, California. The two were teammates for five seasons, and both are registered in the event in the same group for the first two rounds.
Kelce is confirmed to be involved in the event for two days. On Thursday and Friday, Kelce is paired with PGA Tour pro Keith Mitchell, and Smith is coupled with Mackenzie Hughes. The event is scheduled to run from February 9 through 15.
The 2026 edition marks the first time that Kelce has played in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He hasn’t been able to participate in previous years due to the Super Bowl being too close to the event.
Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs Steps Out for Super Bowl Week
Kelce was at Super Bowl LX and was spotted by cameras on the field, taking in the NFL action. So, Kelce didn’t make it to the Super Bowl as a player, but he was there as a fan of football.
Kelce also attended the NFL Honors on Thursday, February 5, which was part of Super Bowl week in San Francisco. At the event, he was nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, which recognizes an NFL player for his excellence on and off the field.
The award, according to the NFL’s official website, was established in 1970 and was renamed in 1999 after the late Hall of Fame running back, Walter Payton. Each team gets to nominate “one player who has had a significant positive impact on his community,” according to the NFL, “with one winner selected from the 32 club winners.”
Swift wasn’t at the Super Bowl with Kelce, and she also skipped NFL Honors. Why did she miss those events? Again, it all has to do with security. She has to be very careful about her security wherever she goes, so she’s been sticking to home Kansas City Chiefs games.
