Mike Vrabel’s final inspirational message for Patriots
Before the Patriots left for Levi’s Stadium, head coach Mike Vrabel reportedly had one final message for his players.
According to Albert Breer of The MMQB, Vrabel opened his Sunday team meeting playing “Beautiful Day” by U2, which was played at halftime of Super Bowl XXXVI as the Patriots stunned the Rams. That game was played months after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, and the band displayed the victims’ names behind them during their performance.
Vrabel was a player in the game. According to Breer, he told the current Patriots that it was a beautiful day for he and his teammates because no one expected them to win, much like this year’s team. The NFL insider said Vrabel’s final plan for Super Bowl Sunday was “Belief, identity, rage.”
