BREAKING : Dallas Cowboys Pick Ohio State Stud In Mel Kiper’s Mock Draft

There really is no secret about how the Dallas Cowboys will approach the offseason, is there?

An all-out assault on the defense.

After the Matt Eberflus dumpster fire, he lost his job, and now leaves the Cowboys with around six or seven starter holes in their defense.

That isn’t ideal.

But with the potential to have over $100 million in cap space, several free agents could easily be signed to address some needs.

And due to the Micah Parsons trade to the Green Bay Packers, the Cowboys have two first-round picks at their disposal.

Picks No. 12 and No. 20 mean Dallas can essentially have their pick of the draft board when it comes to defensive players.

But with needs at safety, linebacker, corner, and pass rusher, figuring out which way to go for the Cowboys isn’t exactly the easiest thing to work out.

However, we are now in the offseason, when mock drafts are flying off the shelves, and ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has dropped his first of many over the coming months.

And at No. 12, he has Dallas taking Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles.

“If you wanted to score points in 2025, all you needed was a matchup with the Cowboys’ defense,” Kiper Jr. wrote. “They allowed 30.1 points per game, the most in the league. But Dallas could really use an impact player in the middle of the defense. Styles is a former safety, and it’s no surprise once you see his speed.

“He can close on ball carriers and pass catchers in a flash. With 174 tackles over the past two seasons, he’s a top-10 prospect for me.”

You hear that? That’s Cowboys Nation celebrating.

With linebacker play just horrific in 2025 from Kenneth Murray and even Logan Wilson, a complete overhaul is needed.

DeMarvion Overshown is a starter in 2025, but with him? Marist Liufau and Shemar James are the other options.

Having D-Mo and Styles as the starting linebacker duo in 2026 is a fascinating thought, particularly with Sonny’s elite tackling ability.

The one thing Dallas struggled with in 2025 was tackling. Styles helps that, plus his ability read and react is elite, something Cowboys linebackers under Eberflus struggled to do.

If Styles is taken at No. 12, you can make the case that the Cowboys’ 2026 draft is off to a flying start.
