BREAKING : Chiefs Name Eric Bieniemy as Offensive Coordinator

The Kansas City Chiefs welcomed back a familiar face on Friday as Eric Bieniemy officially signed on as Offensive Coordinator heading into the 2026 season.

This marks Bieniemy’s second stint as Chiefs’ Offensive Coordinator after manning that post for five seasons from 2018 through 2022, where Kansas City led the NFL in average points-per-game (30.1), total touchdowns (296), third down percentage (49%) and total yards-per-game (406.2) during that time.

Bieniemy went on to spend the 2023 season as the Washington Commanders’ Offensive Coordinator before serving on UCLA’s coaching staff in 2024. He then returned to the NFL this past season as the Chicago Bears’ Running Backs’ Coach, leading a group that finished the season with the third-highest rushing average-per-game (144.5) in the NFL.

Notably, Bienemy helped veteran running back D’Andre Swift (who racked up a career-most 1,087 rushing yards) and rookie Kyle Monangai (a seventh-round pick who ranked fifth among all rookies in rushing yards) to strong seasons in 2025.

Now back in Kansas City, Bieniemy will have an opportunity to pick right back up where he left off.
