A pair of great Detroit Lions were named as selections to the 2026 College Football Hall of Fame class.
Former Lions receiver Herman Moore and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh were named to the National Football Foundation’s 2026 Hall of Fame Class on Thursday.
Before he was drafted 10th overall by the Lions in the 1991 NFL draft, Moore starred at Virginia. Similarly, prior to being chosen No. 2 overall by the Lions in the 2010 NFL draft, Suh was one of the nation’s top stars at Nebraska.

Moore helped Virginia capture a share of the 1989 ACC championship. Then, in 1990, the Danville, Va., native played a central role in helping the Cavaliers rise to their first No. 1 national ranking. Virginia would play in the Sugar Bowl that season.
Moore was a consensus first-team All-American in 1990 and finished sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting. The 6-foot-4 receiver set ACC single-season records for receiving yards (1,190), receiving yards per game (108.2) and receiving touchdowns (13). Moore departed Virginia as the school’s all-time leader in career receiving yards (2,504), receiving touchdowns (27), and 100-yard receiving games (eight).
Moore played 11 seasons with the Lions, appearing in 145 games and starting 122. The dynamic receiver was a three-time first-team All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler with Detroit during the 1994-97 NFL seasons. The 6-foot-4 wide receiver hauled in 670 passes for 9,174 yards and 62 touchdowns.
Suh anchored a 2009 Nebraska defense that led the nation in scoring defense, surrendering just 10.4 points per game. Suh tallied 21 tackles for loss and 12 sacks in 2009 as he earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and Defensive Lineman of the Year honors.
In the 2009 Big 12 Championship Game against Texas, Suh notched a school-record-tying seven tackles for loss.
Suh spent his first five seasons with the Lions, earning four Pro Bowl nods, three first-team All-Pro honors and capturing NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2010. Suh started 78 games with the Lions from 2010-14, recording 238 tackles, 66 tackles for loss, 36 sacks and 15 passes defended.
The 2026 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class will officially be inducted during the 68th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas on Dec. 8, 2026, at Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
