Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs came up short in Week 17, falling to 6-10 on the 2025 NFL season after a 20-13 Christmas Day loss to the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs will now turn their attention to the season finale, hitting the road to face another AFC West rival in the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 18.
For the first time since the 2014 season, Reid and the Chiefs failed to make the playoffs, ending a 10-year run that included three Super Bowl wins in five appearances. To make matters worse, quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a torn ACL early in December, while tight end Travis Kelce could be nearing retirement.

That hasn’t stopped Kansas City from continuing to improve its roster. On Tuesday, it was revealed that the Chiefs signed two players to their practice squad, defensive tackle Marcus Harris and linebacker Kam Arnold, bringing the unit to 12 of its 16 available spots.
Harris spent two seasons with the Kansas Jayhawks before transferring to the Auburn Tigers for his final three years of college football. He earned second-team All-SEC honors in his senior season, when he recorded 40 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. Harris was selected in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans but has been unable to secure a full-time NFL roster spot since.
Arnold, meanwhile, spent his entire college career at Boston College, where he became a team captain in 2024. He went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft before the Washington Commanders signed him as an undrafted free agent. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
“The Chiefs have signed LB Kam Arnold and DT Marcus Harris to the practice squad,” Chiefs Digest’s Matt Derrick wrote on X. “That puts the Chiefs at 12 spots filled on the 16-player practice squad.”
