THE Dallas Cowboys’ season is well and truly over from a competitive standpoint.
However, there are still records they’ll be keen to avoid as the curtain closes on another NFL regular season.

The Cowboys sit 7-8-1 with one game to go as they prepare to take on the New York Giants in the season finale.
A win over the Giants would see them finish 8-8-1 with a chance to make NFL history.
That all depends on how many points they score and concede against Jaxson Dart and company.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense have been electric for much of the season only for their defense to regularly let them down.
That underwhelming Cowboys team dynamic has led to their season points differential being very close to zero.
The Cowboys have a -23 points differential heading into the final game, which they are likely to win.
Per Reddit user JPAnalyst, the Cowboys could become the first team in the 17-game NFL era to go 8-8-1 with a zero-point differential.
The Cincinnati Bengals were the last team to do this in 1984 when it was a 16-game regular season.
They posted an 8-8 record while scoring 339 points and giving up 339 points, leaving a zero-point differential.
The Washington Commanders have finished the regular season before with an 8-8-1 record in the 17-game era.
However, they finished with a 99-point differential after scoring 335 points and surrendering 434 points.
It might take an incredible feat from Prescott and the offense to achieve a 23-point-margin victory over the Giants.
Their largest win of the season came against the Commanders with a 44-22 scoreline, which is one point shy of what they’ll need.
The Cowboys will face the Giants at 1pm ET on Sunday, January 4 to close out a disappointing year having missed out on the playoffs.
