šŸ‘‰ Andy Reid’s Shockingly Honest Response to Travis Kelce Retirement Rumors 😲 | Chiefs Fans Won’t Expect This

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.

It was another disappointing outing for Andy Reid and theĀ Kansas City ChiefsĀ despiteĀ Travis Kelce’s relatively strong showing on Christmas Day. The four-time All-Pro tight end did what he could against theĀ Denver Broncos, registering five catches for a team-high 36 yards. It still wasn’t enough, though, as the Chiefs suffered a 20-13 loss to their AFC West rivals, marking their fifth consecutive loss.

Reid spoke to reporters after the game, and one of the biggest questions he faced was about Kelce’s retirement. There has been a lot of talk about Kelce possibly playing in his final year for the Chiefs, and Reid was asked to address the same after Thursday’s loss.

There was some extra buzz surroundingĀ Kelce’s rumored retirementĀ on Christmas Day since it was Kansas City’s final home game of the season. The Chiefs have one game left to play, on the road at Allegiant Stadium against theĀ Las Vegas RaidersĀ in Week 18. As such, this game could have been Kelce’s final one at Arrowhead following a decorated 13-yearĀ NFLĀ career.

This was one of the topics Reid faced during his postgame interview. The three-timeĀ Super Bowl-winning head coach, however, quickly shut down the subject after being asked about the possibility of this being Kelce’s final game at Arrowhead Stadium.

ā€œWe’ll talk another time about all of that,ā€ Reid said, viaĀ ESPN’s Nate Taylor.

Kelce himself addressed the matter as he took the podium following Thursday’s loss. Much like Reid, the 10-time Pro Bowler also deflected the question, saying that he remains focused on winning football games. Kelce did say, however, that he will focus on his retirement decisionĀ ā€œwhen the time comes.ā€

The Chiefs, who have already been eliminated from playoff contention, dropped to 6-10 after their latest loss. They have an opportunity to end their season on a high note in Week 18 when they face the Raiders, who are currently 2-13.
