Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is shown before their game against the Houston Texans Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The Green Bay Packers have an important mission this coming Saturday. A win (or a tie) in Week 17 against the Baltimore Ravens at Lambeau Field will give Green Bay a ticket to the NFL playoffs.
But the game and playoff implications aside, this upcoming showdown between the Packers and the Ravens will give Green Bay defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley a chance to have a reunion with one of his best players during his time as head coach of the Boston College Eagles, and that’s none other than Ravens star wide receiver Zay Flowers.
But while Hafley is looking forward to meeting Flowers again, he’s bent on finding ways to contain his former player.

Jeff Hafley coached Zay Flowers for three years at Boston College. The Packers DC on the Ravens Pro Bowl wide receiver:
“It makes me extremely proud to see, but now we’re gonna do everything we can to stop him.”
Can the Packers slow down Flowers?
Flowers played four seasons for Boston College from 2019 to 2022. During that time, he amassed 3,056 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns on 200 receptions. In his final season with the Eagles, he had 1,077 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 78 receptions.
In 2023, Flowers turned pro and was selected in the first round of that year’s NFL draft by the Ravens. He’s become a true star for Baltimore, as evidenced by the fact that he now has two Pro Bowl nods in three seasons. So far in 2025, the 25-year-old Flowers has 1,043 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 78 catches and 107 targets.
The Packers surely will have a target on Flowers’ back. Green Bay’s defense could get a break on that end if quarterback Lamar Jackson ends up getting ruled out for the contest, as the Ravens star quarterback is dealing with an apparent back issue.
