Patrick Mahomes News Has Chiefs Fans Angry

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs won’t be in the playoffs, which is so strange to say, because this is the first year in the Mahomes era that they’ll miss the postseason. But, the good news is that since the Chiefs won’t be in the playoffs, they’ll be available for the Pro Bowl for the first time in years.

The 2026 Pro Bowl is set to take place on Tuesday February 3, and the game will air on ESPN, Disney XD and ESPN Deportes starting at 6:30 p.m. ET with the flag game at 8 p.m. ET. When it happens, four Kansas City Chiefs players will be on the field, representing the franchise: Creed Humphrey, Chris Jones, Travis Kelce and Trey Smith.

“The Kansas City Chiefs are in the midst of a disappointing season in 2025, but despite the circumstances, four members of the team were recognized for their outstanding individual performances with Pro Bowl nods on Sunday,” Matt McMullen of the Kansas City Chiefs’ official website said.

Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs Snubbed

Mahomes didn’t make the top roster for the Pro Bowl, and Kansas City Chiefs fans aren’t happy about it. He made it as an alternate player, though, along with cornerback Trent McDuffie and linebacker Nick Bolton.

“The best of the best minus Pat of course,” one commenter said on Instagram. “Mahomes deserves a spot,” another said on the same post.

“Patrick Mahomes was left off of the Pro Bowl roster this year amid the Kansas City Chiefs’ massively disappointing season,” Pro Football Network noted. “He was a part of it, ranking just 15th among all quarterbacks in PFSN’s Impact Rankings, but he was far from their biggest issue.”

“Bro, as a fan of kc we have no business having a single pro bowler other than Mahomes (obviously he’s hurt tho), everyone lacked hard this year,” another said.

“The Chiefs won’t achieve their goals in 2025, but all seven of these players are more than deserving of individual recognition as Kansas City wraps up the season,” McMullen added of the picks.

The Kansas City Chiefs Are Moving

On Monday, December 22, the Kansas City Chiefs announced that they’re moving from Missouri and Arrowhead Stadium to a new domed stadium in Kansas.

The Chiefs, Kansas governor Laura Kelly and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced in a joint statement from owner and chairman Clark Hunt that the team will be moving to Kansas City, Kansas, following a meeting of the Kansas Legislative Coordinating Council.

“Today we are excited to take another momentous step for the future of the franchise,” Hunt said. “We have entered into an agreement with the State of Kansas to host Chiefs football beginning with the 2031 NFL season.

Hunt added, “In the years ahead, we look forward to designing and building a state-of-the-art domed stadium and mixed-use district in Wyandotte County, and a best-in-class training facility, team headquarters, and mixed-use district in Olathe, totaling a minimum of $4 billion of development in the State of Kansas.”

So, the Chiefs will have a new home, but it won’t be for several years, so enjoy Arrowhead while you have it.
