“Foxboro loooooves Tom Brady!”

It’s been nearly a quarter century since legendary New England Patriots broadcaster Gil Santos uttered those words to describe the club’s young upstart quarterback as he thrived on a huge (and snow-filled) stage in knocking off the then-Oakland Raiders in the 2002 AFC Divisional Round.

Although some of the details have changed, that sentiment still rang true on Sunday.

Drake Maye, the new guy in town, is universally beloved and will have his own opportunity to make some noise on a similar stage as the club takes on the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium — with the AFC East there for the taking.

Will Campbell, his rookie blindside protector, won’t be available for that matchup, but brough good vibes as he rocked an “I Love Drake Maye” shirt when arriving to the stadium early on Sunday.

“Thank you to Ann Michael (Maye) for the shirt,” Campbell said while walking in to the stadium.

The Patriots are riding high entering a matchup where they can take home the division title, and can showcase why that shirt will probably be a best-seller this holiday season with a victory.
