Is CeeDee Lamb playing today vs. Vikings? Cowboys confirm status for Week 15

The last time the Dallas Cowboys took the field was 10 days ago, and things did not go well, as America’s Team took a devastating 44-30 defeat to the Detroit Lions.

To make matters worse, superstar CeeDee Lamb was forced out of the game after suffering what looked to be a severe concussion after hitting his head hard on the turf when attempting to make a catch early in the third quarter.

Naturally, Lamb’s status for the Cowboys’ Week 15 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings has been a big topic of conversation for the past week. Things took a positive turn on Wednesday when he participated in practice on Wednesday, albeit as a limited participant.

The situation improved when he was upgraded to a full participant on Thursday, and on Friday, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the four-time Pro Bowler had officially cleared concussion protocol, thus putting Lamb in line to take the field on Sunday night. Dallas head coach Brian Schottenheimer later confirmed the news.

CeeDee Lamb is aiming for a third straight 100-yard game in the Cowboys’ crucial Week 15 battle with the Vikings

Prior to his injury against the Lions, Lamb was on his way to a monster outing, as he’d already gone for a season-high 121 yards on six catches. One has to wonder if he could’ve hit the 200-yard mark, as his injury occurred just over two minutes into the second half.

One week earlier, the three-time All-Pro also surpassed the century mark, catching seven passes on nine targets for 112 yards with a touchdown in the Cowboys’ 31-28 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day.

It could be a bit tougher for Lamb to reach the 100-yard mark on Sunday night, as the Vikings have surrendered just 172.3 passing yards per game this season, good for the fourth-fewest in the NFL.

But just having No. 88 on the field is obviously good news for the Cowboys, who basically have no shot at securing a wild-card spot but are still alive in the NFC East race, as the Philadelphia Eagles have taken a bit of a tumble in recent weeks, losing their last three. Dallas will likely need to win its final four games and then hope the Birds take a couple of more losses down the stretch.
