After losing to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, the Kansas City Chiefs are in serious danger of missing the NFL playoffs, as Patrick Mahomes and company need to win as many games as possible in the final stretch of the 2025 NFL season.
That said, the Week 14 matchup with the red-hot Houston Texans is crucial to the team’s playoff hopes, as they desperately need to come out on top against C.J. Stroud‘s squad while hosting at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on Sunday night.
One of the primary concerns for the Chiefs heading into this matchup with the Texans is the run game, with the team potentially having three new starters on the offensive line, which obviously could drastically change how the offense functions, especially out of the backfield.
Isiah Pacheco’s Message for Chiefs’ Offensive Line

Obviously, with the offensive line being a primary concern heading into this Week 14 matchup against a very good Texans squad, Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco will be directly impacted.
The veteran running back was asked about the concerns on the offensive line and how he feels ahead of the clash with the Texans on Sunday during his media availability this week.
“Confident,” Pacheco said. “Confident in coach’s scheme and we’re ready to roll.”
Despite Pacheco’s confidence and faith in legendary head coach Andy Reid, the Chiefs’ offense will be put to the test in Week 14, and there’s no telling how things will pan out for the storied franchise, even though they’ll have the advantage of playing at home.
Travis Kelce Makes Bold Claim About Chiefs

With the Chiefs sporting a record of 6-6 following the loss to the Cowboys, the storied franchise will have its back against the wall coming into this matchup against the Texans.
Even though this is panning out to be a disappointing season for the Chiefs, superstar tight end Travis Kelce believes the team has been only a “few plays away” from being the league’s elite squad in the AFC.
“I’m sure everyone is sick of us saying it, but we’re a few plays away from being a one seed in my mind,” Kelce said. “It’s crazy that you watch the film and you see what’s real. And what’s real is we’re that [expletive] close.”
Even if the Chiefs are a few plays away from having a much better record, the fact that the team is .500 heading into Week 14 remains unchanged, with this team, led by Mahomes, having no margin for error moving forward if they want to clinch a playoff spot in the AFC.
The AFC West division title seems to be out of the question, with the Denver Broncos having a remarkable season. Bo Nix and company have one of the best records in the NFL at 10-2 and are well on their way to winning the division crown, while the Chiefs need some things to go their way during the final stretch of the 2025 campaign.
