Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Makes Feelings Clear on Jerry Jeudy After Spat

Shedeur Sanders is hoping to put his differences with Jerry Jeudy to the side.

In the Cleveland Browns’ blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Jeudy and Sanders were seen going at it on the sidelines. The spat between them has been a major storyline for the Browns’ offense ahead of their Week 14 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

However, Sanders claimed the two have resolved it and are on good terms.

“We resolved that,” Sanders said on Wednesday. “We’re not gonna speak on that.”

In the two games that Sanders started, Jeudy has just four receptions for 65 yards and hasn’t gotten into the endzone. It’s been a frustrating stretch for Jeudy, who’s supposed to be the Browns’ No. 1 receiver.

Jeudy, meanwhile, said he and Sanders spoke and also said the two are good.

“We spoke about it,” Jeudy said. “We’re good. It’s an emotional sport. Things happen in football.”

But perhaps Jeudy has a breakout game on Sunday after the dispute between Sanders and the star receiver.

Sanders Wants to Build Trust With Jeudy

Sanders will be starting his third-straight game on Sunday, and he’s looking to build more trust with his receivers.

Following Sunday’s game, Sanders was asked about his spat with Jeudy and said the two need to get on the same page and get more comfortable with one another.

“It was a comfort level. I think, like, as players and as teammates, we have to be able to gel with each other and be comfortable with each other in every situation,” Sanders said on Sunday. “That takes time, that takes a lot of things. So, this team is not going to be a microwave thing – we’re going to have sparks here and there, but it’s going to take time to be able to develop that chemistry with everybody, to be on the same page with Jerry (Jeudy).

“Of course you want to be able to get him the ball, but you got to understand it take time. I’m more of a trust person, and that’s just what it boils down to. So, we have to spend time on task with all those guys, and be able to trust and be able to see things at the same lens. A lot of time out there, I would say passing wise, we’re not seeing everything at the same lens or certain guys aren’t in the same spot that we seen and we practice.”

Sanders went 16-of-25 for 149 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers on Sunday.

Browns’ Sanders Open to Taking ‘Risks’

Ahead of his third NFL start, Sanders said he’s looking forward to once again proving himself.

Sanders said he’s looking to build trust with his receivers and is open to taking more risks on Sunday against the Titans.

“I would say overall, I would say just being able to get on the same page and trust. The hardest thing in this game right now is having trust,” Sanders said. “Having trust in everybody. Certain movements, certain ways we make eye contact, like, certain things are so detailed, and that’s how I play very comfortably. So that’s how I get in my comfort zone.

“That’s how I get in my bag. That’s how I’m able to do that. So, it’s different because this is a different year. It’s not a traditional way; it’s not a traditional situation. That’s okay, cause it’s a challenge. And I know we’re gonna be able to overcome the challenge, but it just expedites everything. And you just go out there and just take risks. It is what it is.”

The Browns are 4.5-point favorites against the Titans at home on Sunday.
